PSA: Not For Sale

Over at Fandom in Stitches, Jennifer just posted a very important message that I want to share with my readers because it is critical for whoever uses my (fandom) patterns as well!!

Some extract from the post:

"Please note: SALE OF ITEMS MADE FROM THE PATTERNS PROVIDED ON THIS WEBSITE IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
Our patterns are free as derivative art under Fair Use."

"I'm sure we don't need to explain that there is ZERO we could do if someone tried to shut us down.
All it would take is one person to ruin what we have built here."

Blogger's Quilt Festival - Original Design - Snoopy & Friends!

---
If you are new here WELCOME to my blog!

If you are returning visitor SORRY I keep changing the look and pages of my blog :)
I am in the process of "beautifying" it loosely following the "Beautify your blog" @ Sew at Home Mummy so things will keep changing until I am happy with it (or tired of making changes... whichever comes first ;) )
---
I am not sure if this quilt will "qualify" for the Blogger's Quilt Festival this year... because I entered it last year too but since I didn't win any prize and since this year category is a better fit (I think) I will enter it and let's hope for the best ;)

This is the second post (the one for the category "Original Design").
You can find the first post (for the ROYGBIV Quilt category) here.

But for the Original Design category, this is my entry!
(front)

(back)

All these blocks were designed by me... and since it was a present for a friend of mine (and she is Italian), the quotes from the different characters are in Italian :)
Please ignore my wonky/irregular/weird quilting... I am still very new to the quilting process and I do my best... but I stopped trying to reach perfection before sharing things... I think that's a nice project even with all the imperfect lines ;)

---
If you are new to my blog, look around and feel free to leave me comments ;)
I am a paper piecing addicted and I share all my patterns (mostly Disney or cartoon related) here on my blog!
I have patterns to be tested (Simpsons, Alice in Wonderland, Mickey Mouse & Friends, Donald Duck & friends) and many pattern tested and ready to be enjoyed by other great quilters!!
For any question about my patterns (or if you would like to have a block of a specific character) don't hesitate to contact me (all my contact information are available in my About page)

And now drop by Amy's blog to check all those great projects!!!
On May 23rd voting will open... Mine do not stand a chance against the wonderful ones that I already spotted there... but still, it's fun to share my love for quilting with so many talented people!!!

Blogger's Quilt Festival - ROYGBIV - Celtic Sunrise

If you are new here WELCOME to my blog!

If you are returning visitor SORRY I keep changing the look and pages of my blog :)

This is the first of two posts (the one for the category "Original Design").
You can find the second post (for the Original Design Quilt category) here.

But for the ROYGBIV category, this is my entry!
(Front 2)

(Front 1)

Yes, you read it correctly... this quilt does NOT have a back... it has 2 fronts ;)
The front I choose to enter for the Quilt festival is actually "front 2" what most people would call "the back" :)

Front 2 is my reinterpretation of Weave, by Kathreen Ricketson... I wanted to represent a sunrise on a Irish hill... and the reason why the sunrise is specifically in Ireland is because the Front 1 is the result of my participation in Bonnie Hunter's mystery QAL: "Celtic Solstice"...
I love the way the spirals complements the straight look of the piecing on Front 2... and the imperfections in the quilting perfectly match the scrappy look of both sides ;)

Here few more pictures of this colorful and cheerful baby quilt!

and now this week the Cardinal pillow is done done!

The pattern is by Liljabs and it is available on Fandom In Stitches (Sports, St. Louis Cardinals).
The pattern is great, very simple and so cute!!
--

MOP Monday - back with some paper piecing

My paper piecing mojo is coming back... but not yet at full speed :)
So I did more traditional piecing and just some small pp blocks... but that's a good start!

-- MOP: The list --
1. As You Wish - no progress (progress last week)
2. Celtic Solstice - Finished (see past post)
2. (new ongoing project) Rainbow Starburst - 6 new blocks (see below)
3. Tea Towel challenge and PPV BOM - 2 new blocks! (see below)
4. Alice in Wonderland quilt - no progress
5. Happy Halloween wall hanging - no progress
6. Topolino quilt - no progress
--
7. Cardinal pillow - printed pattern
(it is my entry for May for the Lovely Year of Finishes! I don't have a picture of this because I didn't picked the fabric yet... but I printed the pattern, so it's already at a good starting point ;))

-- MOP: This week new blocks --
These are the second version of the block for April (left) and the block for May (right) for Jennifer's Paper Piecing Vintage.
I love the house block... so fast, so easy and so perfect for me this month for two reasons: 1. it's the only block for which I have only one copy in my special layout, and that's perfect because this month I am going to move in another state, so with this block done, I can pack this project away already! 2. I pieced this block last night, after we came back from a trip to visit a house that will become our new home!! so isn't that block just perfect to celebrate our new home?? :)

--
6 more blocks for my Rainbow Starburst quilt (you can find the pattern here).
As I said last week: I love that block! It's super easy, super scrappy, super wonky, super fast... and I do just few blocks at the time... I don't even know how big the quilt is going to be, or how many block I will need... I just cut 3'' squares and I put them together in blocks of similar colors... and when I have enough I will make a quilt :)
